Mark & Kayla met in college at UH. The first time they noticed each other was when they were working in a taro patch. The second time, was when Kayla was a guest lecturer in a religion course that Mark was taking. They finally got to talking and ended up going on a picnic, which led to them dating.
The proposal was on their early tradition of Festivus, during their move to a new apartment. Kayla recalls that it wasn’t fancy because Mark couldn’t even wait to propose at dinner, and ended up proposing in the chaos of their semi packed house.
Together they enjoy going on adventures: to the beach, hiking, snorkeling. They love eating, playing board games, and playing with their furry child aka dog, Otto.
